To really feel a forest canopy, we must use different senses and often the most useful one is the sense of imagination.
– Joan Maloof
Competitors were asked to create a design that brought the rainforest to Manchester, in the form of a forest canopy, fully suspended, with fresh flower or plant material comprising at least two thirds of the material.

We chose for our September Design of the Month the Bridal Design created by Elisabeth (Lisa) Pålsson of Norway, which, ingeneously, uses tiny magnets to attach each and every individual flower to the structure.
The structure was a kind of tree with a trunk and branches made of wound wire, to which the magnets on the flowers could hold.
