Point of Emergence
The axis of Lersch's taxonomy that classifies where plant material appears to originate relative to the container - below, in, above, or beside it.

The point of emergence axis introduces the container not merely as a vessel but as a spatial reference point in the design's geometry. Where material appears to originate - below, in, above, or beside the container - generates a fundamentally different spatial relationship between plant material and vessel in each case. An arrangement that appears to emerge from above the container has a different gravitational and visual logic from one emerging from beside it.
