Design of the Month

Aalsmeer’s Boerma Instituut hosted the most recent International Teachers Seminar, moderated by Gregor Lersch. Invited instructors from 12 different countries attended the three day program, discussing current theory, trends and topics, and each day explored a specific theme. Gregor presented his thoughts on each theme and then invited participants to create their own versions to provoke discussion, leading to a more universal understanding between the nations.

The themes presented were: New thoughts on hand tied bouquets, approaches to sustainable designing, and ‘upside down’ flowers

Do you want to grow your understanding of design so that you can create more successful and harmonious designs? Flower Thinking’s online courses offer a perfect opportunity to help you achieve this goal. We have just launched the dates for courses scheduled so far for this year. The programs are designed for those with some experience of creating with flowers - there's no requirement to be an advanced designer to join (experts are welcome too!). Participants submit images of their designs for various tasks and receive feedback (live or recorded) to help them improve their skills for future projects. Along the way I offer my support, examples and detailed commentary.
