Point of Emergence / Growth

The origin from which plant material appears to grow or emerge, positioned below, in, above, or beside the container.

“The point of emergence introduces the container as a spatial reference point in the design's geometry - not merely a vessel.”

The point of emergence introduces the container not merely as a vessel but as a spatial reference point in the design's geometry. An arrangement that appears to emerge from below the container has a different gravitational and visual logic from one emerging above it. This category distinguishes between four positions and generates fundamentally different spatial relationships between material and vessel in each case.
