Single Focal Point
An arrangement configuration with one concentrated zone of visual emphasis, toward which all materials in the design are directed.
“A single focal point simplifies the dominance hierarchy but demands that one zone carry sufficient visual weight to anchor the entire composition.”
A single focal point concentrates attention at one location within the design. All materials - line flowers, secondary flowers, transitional mass - are organised to direct the eye toward this single zone of emphasis. This is the default configuration of traditional symmetrical design, where focal materials are gathered along the central vertical axis. The choice of a single focal point simplifies the hierarchy of dominance but demands that the single zone carries sufficient visual weight to anchor the entire composition.
