Concept
Point of Emergence - Beside Container
An arrangement configuration in which plant material appears to originate from a point beside or lateral to the container, creating a horizontal spatial relationship.
“Point of emergence beside the container establishes a lateral spatial relationship - the container becomes a compositional anchor rather than an origin of growth.”
When the point of emergence is beside the container, the plant material appears to originate from a lateral position - alongside rather than within or above the vessel. This creates a horizontal spatial relationship between material and container, and is associated with certain contemporary design approaches where the container is treated as a compositional anchor rather than a vessel of growth.
