Point of Emergence - In Container

An arrangement configuration in which plant material appears to originate from within the container itself - the standard configuration of most traditional and contemporary arrangements.

“Point of emergence in the container is the standard configuration - its familiarity is precisely why departure from it carries expressive significance.”

When the point of emergence is in the container, the plant material appears to grow or be arranged within the vessel. This is the most common configuration in floristry and is the default assumption in most arrangement styles: traditional symmetrical design, most decorative work, and many contemporary arrangements. The container acts as both the physical vessel and the apparent origin of growth. Source: Lersch (300).
