Warm Colours
Colours on the red-orange-yellow side of the colour wheel, which visually advance toward the viewer.
“Warm colours advance visually - their placement is not merely aesthetic but directly affects the perceived depth and balance of the whole composition.”
Warm colours - reds, oranges, and yellows - are spatially assertive. They appear to come forward in a composition, making them powerful tools in focal areas. Their advancing quality must be managed in relation to the receding tendency of cool colours. The spatial behaviour of warm colours means that colour placement is not merely an aesthetic decision - it directly affects the perceived depth and balance of the whole composition.
