Questions

Do I need previous experience?
Most likely, yes. A working familiarity with floral design fundamentals is assumed, not advanced mastery.
Am I good enough to enjoy and get value out of this program?
This program is for floral designers and artists who want to better understand their creative pathways. Advanced floral art / design / floristry skills are not needed. If you have some essential skills and knowledge, or curiosity about design principles, you stand to enjoy growing as a designer with us, whichever path you choose.
What does it cost?
Every price is shown above: $350.00 for Sources and Systems, $2,950.00 for the full workshop, or $1,100.00 per single day.
Is there a discount?
No. Pricing is flattened deliberately so it's as affordable as possible for everyone, no group rates to chase.
What's the difference between Sources and Systems, the full workshop, and a single day?
Sources and Systems is a one-day design symposium on Friday 14 August. New From Known is the three-day hands-on workshop, Saturday 15 to Monday 17 August, and can also be booked as individual single days if three consecutive days isn't possible.
Can I attend Sources and Systems and the workshop separately, or do I need to do both?
They're independent programs and can be booked separately.
Do I need to attend all three workshop days, or can I choose just one or two?
Yes, single days are available individually at $1,100 each, covering Structured vs. Held (Day 1), Organic vs. Absolute (Day 2), or Basket vs. Abstraction (Day 3).
What's included in the price?
All horticultural materials, sundries and supplies required are supplied. And it is fully catered, with welcome beverages each morning, morning and afternoon tea, lunch includes a range of hot and cold food offerings served buffet style.
Where is it held, and is parking available?
Bankstown District Sports Club, Sydney, confirmed venue for all three events. There's free parking onsite and it's two minutes' walk from Bankstown Train Station.
Where should I stay if I'm travelling from out of town?
The Bankstown Mercure is located directly above the venue. Just step out of the lift and into the venue. There's also a range of other accommodation in the area, see booking.com and tripadvisor.com.
Is there a cap on numbers?
Yes, all events are nearly sold out. There's still time to book.
What should I bring? Is there a dress code or anything I need to prepare?
Just bring your basic floristry hand tools, a few snips, pliers, etc.
Is the venue accessible?
Bankstown Sports Club at 8 Greenfield Parade is fully wheelchair accessible. It features accessible parking bays on the green level of the multi-level car park, unlocked accessible public restrooms, step-free entry, and internal lifts/platform lifts to navigate the multi-level complex and integrated hotel.
I'm a hobbyist, not a professional florist. Is this for me?
Absolutely. All the events in the programme are respectful of all levels of experience and inclusive of all floral backgrounds: floral artists, flower arrangers, floral designers, and florists are all welcome.
