    Embrace the contemporary trend of working with two containers, while Bart demonstrates how to use them and achieve a singular, cohesive composition. You’ll explore technical skills and design thinking that allows you to unite two vessels into one harmonious arrangement. Learn how to integrate multiple containers into a clear, appealing vision.

Bart is well known for his exacting use of innovative mechanics and techniques and his extraordinary abilities to present flowers and plants materials in dynamic ways. Bart Hassam is an internationally acclaimed Australian floral designer, demonstrator, and lecturer renowned for his distinctive style that harmoniously blends elements of Sogetsu Ikebana and European design.

In addition to running his Brisbane boutique floral studio Maison Fleur Floral Design, he is a sought-after educator and demonstrator, sharing his expertise in floral design across the globe.

Bart's philosophy centers on creating beauty through plant material with elegance and appropriateness, always maintaining a profound respect for the flower. ​

Event host and organiser, Mark has been designing, competing, teaching and judging for thirty years and is known for his clear, linear style as well as his patient and inclusive way of sharing his knowledge.

Bart Hassam 2025 Workshop Guide

Date and Time

The workshop runs over two days - Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th June 2025.

Registration is from 8:30pm on Monday and the workshop starts at 9:00am on both days.

Venue

The workshop will be held in the Block C Performance Centre Auditorium at the South Bank TAFE, which is located at:

60 Tribune St, South Brisbane

The TAFE is located four minutes walk from South Bank Station, and there is also parking available onsite at the TAFE.

Accommodation & Dining

There's a large number of hotels suiting a range of budgets within a short walk of the Southbank TAFE campus, and many dining options also.

Catering

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea each day are included in the registration fee.

We will ask you to identify any dietary requirements shortly after taking your booking.

For breakfast and dinner, there are many cafes and restaurants within a short walk of the venue.
