Experimenting

An Exhibition of work by Duc Thuan Bui

These designs are my explorations into the unity of floral concepts.

Inspired by the works of the masters, each piece is an attempt to bring together elements from different categories within the design scheme.

It is a process of discovering connections and creative solutions, all in pursuit of a harmonious aesthetic.

Duc Thuan Bui is a passionate Florist and Floral Designer in Sydney with 10 years of experience in the industry. He is actively working, demonstrating and participating in competitions. In recent years, he has embarked on the new journey of teaching, passing on his learning to new budding florists.

I am often amazed by how a few thin lines of grass can uplift and transform a dense floral composition. At times, elements within the same category, such as the colours blue and magenta, may seem contrasting, yet their relationship is not paradoxical; rather, they support and complement each other.

For me, the study of floral arrangement begins with an appreciation for nature and grows through continual experimentation. The process has revealed to me new insights and many other possibilities. These works represent not only my personal growth but serve as a tool for my learning and teaching, while also contributing to the wider floral community.
